Pruning

We all know that pruning, although painful or at least uncomfortable at times, is good. A seed needs to die before it can grow and flourish again. BUT, I have to say, I hate it.
I feel as if this year has been a year of pruning as so much has been stripped away or pared down. I know the purpose of all of this is for good, but I have to be honest in saying I still don't like it. And the reason why? Well I am not good at sitting around & doing nothing!!! I am a 'do-er' who is not good at waiting. Which I think is why there is a God-purpose in this physical 'disability' I have in quite severe knee injuries and the resulting operations & recouperation from them.
I recently read this:-

"When God makes changes in our lives and we're willing to let Him, He starts by cutting away all that is unnecessary. In this process He strips from us everything that could hinder our future growth in order to prepare us to bring forth good fruit. Our life may look barren during those times but God is actually freeing us from anything that does not bring forth life. This process of surrendering all to the Lord, especially our dreams and desires, is called pruning."

This helps..
It helps in knowing it was right to put down so much.
It helps in knowing there is purpose in this season of life.
It helps in highlighting that Paul and the girls are such a life-giving force in my life.

But what am I to do with the rest of my time? God alone knows.........
